The Hot Sauce Cookbook Recipe Contest

The Recipe Club Invites You to Enter The Hot Sauce Recipe Contest!

My latest book project is called “The Hot Sauce Cookbook.” It will include the recipe for that homemade Tabasco Sauce I’ve been working on here along with a whole lot of other hot sauces.

After more than 20 years of judging the Austin Chronicle Hot Sauce Contest, I have a few ideas about hot sauce and how to use it. And my book wouldn’t be complete without the Anchor Bar’s Buffalo Chicken Wings with Frank’s RedHot or Tabasco Sauce and the original Bloody Mary. But I want to include some exciting new uses for hot sauce. How is hot sauce being used in spicy Vietnamese crawfish dips? Is anybody flavoring barbecued pulled pork with sambal?

There is a whole world of recipes out there that I want to know more about. So I asked the web and social media folk at my publishing house’s website “The Recipe Club” to help me hold a recipe contest. The most inventive recipes for pepper sauces or dishes using hot sauce submitted to the contest page at The Recipe Club’s Facebook page will get their recipe attributed in the cookbook–publication is slated for Spring 2013. The other prizes are signed copies of my cookbooks and prize certificates.

If you’d enjoy sharing your hot sauce recipes, I’d love to see them. For more info visit The Recipe Club.

Please, I beg of you, get the recipe for La Fiesta Patio Cafe’s salsa.I grew up eating it, and pick up jars every time I go back to San Antonio to visit family. It’s the best that I’ve ever had.

My mother worked at patio cafe for 15 years and my sister is 30, and has been working there since she was 15. I would be over the moon to get the recipe for patio’s hot sauce, cream of jalapeno soup, and tortilla soup. I literally grew up at patio and unfortunately im afraid ill never even get the recipe to any of these. They are very guarded.
